Dear Carol Cho,

This December, we're going to Vietnam for three weeks to explore, create, and learn. When we travel, we like to incorporate a project and collaborate with locals. So, while we're in Ho Chi Mihn City, we're going to work alongside the makers at FabLab as ambassadors of Lost Arts. Our hope is to contribute something to the place and the people, and learn from them.  

After reading about Airbnb's belief in belonging and community, we realized there's a great opportunity to partner with you on this project. During the trip, we'll be documenting our experiences - at the makerspace and throughout Vietnam - with video and still photography. We have the ability to highlight Airbnb guests and hosts, shine a light on the growing Asian market, and support your brand position of "Belong Anywhere." Our Story

Roman is a builder, farmer, and technologist. Elisabeth is a strategist, writer, and designer. Together, we run a creative practice called Great Wide Open that combines our individual abilities. In an age of abundant technology, we help companies create meaningful real-world experiences through branding, event production, and custom fabrication.

The invention and the journey

While we're in Ho Chi Mihn City, we'll be teaming up with the makers at FabLab to work on a project - likely a controlled environment for growing mushrooms (of Roman's own invention) or a Chicken Smart Farm (one of their existing projects). After this initial stop on our journey, we'll explore Halong Bay, Hoi An, and other unplanned places.
